The regular meeting of the District University of Culture «A dopt Ukraine in her heart for ever» was devoted to the 160th anniversary of Sophia Rusova – the outstanding daughter of Ukraine, public figure, talented teacher and educator, scientist. Director of Central Library System, Honored Culture Worker of Ukraine — Oksana Holovata told the audience about the amazing woman from the Swedish-French family, who carried endless love to Ukrainian people through all her life. She and her husband Alexander Rusov woke citizenship to the realization of self-respect by their views. Arrests were not able to bring her back from the path of of struggle for the rights of Ukrainian. Participants found out about her work in the UPR as leader of the department of pre-school and school education, its active part in the de-Russification of schools, that being in the emigration, she took an active part in the work of the Ukrainian community.
