The Public library №160 held an artistic event “I grew up from the folk songs” which was a part of the project “The Worthy Sons of Ukraine”. The event was dedicated to the 85th anniversary of Alexander Bilash who was one of the most famous and the most favorite Ukrainian composers. He was a People’s Artist of the Soviet Union, Hero of Ukraine and Shevchenko Prize winner. The head of the Library Tatyana Stasiuk told the audience about Alexander Bilash childhood and teenage years, the funny stories that happened to him and his infinite love for music. Participants watched extracts from films “Roman and Francesca”, “Dream” and “Bag, which is full of hearts” where his incomparable songs are performed. All present gladly sang their favorite songs.
