This year’s first meeting of the District University of Culture was dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the famous Ukrainian poet, translator, public figure, academician, Shevchenko National Prize laureate – Pavlo Tychyna. Chief Librarian Kateryna Senko told the audience about the childhood of the poet, his original perception of the world, his love for singing and participation in the church choir, his friendship with Gregory Ver’ovka and Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky, his active civil position during the stormy revolutionary years, his support of talented youth. During the event the speaker was reading poems, read out memories of his contemporaries. Participants also listened with the large personal interest records of songs to his poetry and the live voice of the artist.
